It all started with our “Family Tree”
The idea behind Legendary Trees started with our love of an incredible live oak tree in my front yard.
This picture was taken 3 years ago, and it shows my son (Gus) standing beside this monster! This particular tree is one of the largest in Fort Worth and often draws folks to admire its massive canopy.
When my kids asked: “Dad – why can’t we gather some of these acorns, plant them and grow more trees just like this one” the idea was planted – no pun intended! And the rest is history, as you can see from the photo taken last winter of Gus, his twin sister Tave and co-founder Chuck Cade.
This photo was taken at the Legendary Tree Nursery during a break from hand-planting over 3,000 acorns gathered from famous trees in Texas, Louisiana and South Carolina! The acorns are starting to germinate, and the plants should be 2-3 feet tall and ready to sell this fall!
This truly is a FAMILY business and we plan to keep it that way!
